I have a wonderful garden this year in my new home, but I don't know how much longer it will last. The gophers have eaten half of it and they haven't slowed down one bit! I have an apricot tree in the backyard of the house I rent.  It always freezes late in the spring here, so it has never fruited in the years we've lived here.  It looks like this year it's going to get fruit!  I know nothing about fruit trees.  Should I do anything to help these fruits along, or do I just let them do their thing and pick 'em ( Read more... )

I woke up this morning to find that squirrels had bitten the blooms off two of my unopened tulips. I have a feeling there isn't a damn thing I can do about this, but if anyone has tried anything that worked (short of getting a dog), I'd love to know.

Anyone know a home remedy for keeping the bunnies out of my vegetable garden this year? Last year they pretty much destroyed my green bean crop!

My mom suggested that I put chicken wire around my stuff that I don't want the squirrels digging out of the planters. They 've already made snacks of all the spring flowering bulbs. I've potted up some caladium in clay pots planters along with coleus and marigold seedlings. I hope to start moving them outside next week. I don't want to do anything ( Read more... )

Apart from expensive live traps, are there any ways I can prevent the act I caught this squirrel in the other day? He's eating my peaches. I've never gotten more than a few peaches a season because squirrels and such always gobble them up half-ripe. I live in central Texas, if that helps.

I live in Anaheim Hills, Ca, and am having a huge problem with unidentified burrowing animals. The holes are large -- large enough for rabbits, but do rabbits really burrow, or is that just in cartoons? LOL ( Read more... )
